Tot Tank is celebrating their 2nd anniversary, August 26-28. They’re ringing in the new year with giveways, raffles, and vendor representatives. Tot Tank is an infant gear and juvenile products specialty store. The Best of 2011 Alameda Magazineissue of Alameda Magazine hit the stands back on June 30. Now that we’ve wrapped up “The Best Event in Alameda” and a lot of the hoopla has settled down, we thought it would be fun to review the list of Park Street District businesses that received Readers’ Choice and Editors’ Choice awards. Hollywood Greats to Appear on Historic Big Screen

Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean are just a few of the Hollywood greats that will grace the silver screen at the Historic Alameda Theatre beginning August 17. The “Fall Classic Film Series” starts off with African Queen (8/17-18), Double Indemnity (8/24-25), Splendor in the Grass (8/31-9/1), and East of Eden (9/7-8). Movie-lovers can enjoy a total of 16 outstanding films on the big screen on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Show times vary by film and movie-goers can catch either a matinee or evening showing.

Regular walk-up price is $7.75 for Matinee/Seniors/Child and $10.50 for Adults. But movie-goers can save up to 40% off the regular price by purchasing a Classic Movie Pass, valid for any 8 of the 16 Classic Films. Price of the special pass is only $48 when purchased in advance. Bring a friend and mix & match from the series!

Don’t miss your chance to see some of the best films ever made presented as they were originally seen — in the style and grandeur of the restored 1932 Historic Alameda Theatre.

Park Street Art & Wine Faire “Rocks” the House

The Park Street Art & Wine Faire once again proved to be the “Best Event in Alameda” and a hometown tradition in our island city. With a weekend attendance close to 110,000 people, the 27th annual street fair gave people a chance to gather with friends or to catch up with old friends they haven’t seen for a year or more. In addition, people enjoyed the variety of arts & crafts, the great music, the festival eats, the two children’s areas, and the cooling beverages.
