This Week’s Happenings in the Park Street District: Calendar, August 1-7
The Park Street Art & Wine Faire once again proved to be the “Best Event in Alameda” and a hometown tradition in our island city. With a weekend attendance close to 110,000 people, the 27th annual street fair gave people a chance to gather with friends or to catch up with old friends they haven’t seen for a year or more. In addition, people enjoyed the variety of arts & crafts, the great music, the festival eats, the two children’s areas, and the cooling beverages.
Many of the bands that played at one of the two stages packed in the audiences with their great sounds and high energy. The afternoon bands included Stung (The Police cover band), Zebop! (Tribute to Santana), Tia Carroll & Hard Work, East Bay Mudd, Boptropolis, and California Dreamin‘ .
The Park Street Business Association would like to thank all those who participated in this year’s Park Street Art & Wine Faire – the people who came to enjoy the Faire, the merchants who got into the spirit of the event, and all of our great volunteers. We would especially like to recognize the organizations that kept the cheer flowing at the beverage booths: Alameda Business Network, Alameda Chamber, Alameda Credit Union, Alameda Eagles #1076, Alameda Elks Lodge #1015, Alameda Sun, Bank of Alameda, Cerda-Zein Real Estate, CompoClay, Gallagher & Lindsey Realtors, Jazzercise, Kiwanis Club of Alameda, Mason Management, Rotary Club of Alameda, US Bank, and Wellguard Insurance.
We’d also like to give a big shout out for Rock Wall Wine Company for being our wine vendor this year. If you didn’t get a chance to taste their new wines, you can visit their tasting room at Alameda Point.
We look forward to seeing you at the Park Street Classic Car Show, Saturday, October 8! With over 400 vehicles to be displayed, it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.
