This Week’s Happenings in the Park Street District: Calendar, Aug 29 – Sept 5
If you are a Comcast subscriber, you may soon notice a series of television commercials that promote Alameda and the Park Street Business District. This exciting marketing campaign encourages viewers to “Discover Alameda’s Historic Park Street District.” More than 600 commercials will be shown each month to thousands of households in Alameda, Oakland, Hayward, San Leandro, and San Lorenzo.
Each thirty-second ad begins with an overview of the unique shopping and dining opportunities found in the district. The intro is then followed with two 10-second spotlights on featured merchants. The ad ends with a screen that directs viewers to learn more about Alameda’s vibrant downtown on the Park Street Business District’s website.
Businesses to be spotlighted in the series of ads include Alameda Theatre & Cineplex, Bead Inspirations, Janene’s Bridal Boutique, La Penca Azul, Alameda Marketplace, Ole’s Waffle Shop, Park Street Antiques, Pauline’s Antiques, Pillow Park, Scott’s Shoes, and Tot Tank.
The commercials will be viewed by thousands of households in the Oakland and Hayward zones including Alameda, San Lorenzo, and San Leandro.
The ads will be viewed on popular channels such as USA Network, Bravo, History Channel, HGTV, Travel Channel, and many others.
Each of the thirty-second ads (7 total) will be shown 90 times each month from August through December — that’s 630 ads promoting Alameda’s downtown district each month for 5 months.
The ads will also be posted on YouTube and a special web page will be created for participating businesses to post e-coupons and other special announcements.
