Nidhi Chanani, Indian Artist and Illustrator based in San Francisco, will be at Silk Road (1412 Park St) on June 30th to celebrate the release of her second book, Everyday Love Volume 2. She will be signing copies of the book and prints of her art from 12:00pm Noon to 3:00pm.
Nidhi (pronounced nitty, rhymes with kitty) Chanani is a freelance artist and designer whose illustrations capture the everyday romantic and whimsical moments in life. In a fast-paced society, her work reminds people to recognize those simple moments. Nidhi’s work also inspires young and old to pursue creativity and to recognize that art can be their voice and path in life.
On April 5, Nidhi was honored by the White House as a “Champion of Change.” The presidential program honors ordinary Americans across the country for doing extraordinary things within their communities. Nidhi was born in Calcutta and raised in suburban California. She currently draws and dreams inSan Francisco. She creates art “because it makes me happy – with the hope that it can make others happy, too.”
Nidhi received formal training in illustration from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. She holds a bachelor’s degree in literature from the University of California-Santa Cruz. Her illustrations have been commissioned by Paramount Pictures, Hasbro, and Scribd, to name a few.
