Get set for the 19th Annual Park Street Classic Car Show! More than 400 classic vehicles will be on display in Alameda’s historic downtown district on Saturday, October 13. The free event runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm and is fun for the whole family. Food and prizes will be available, and DJs will be spinning oldies from the ’50s and the ’60s.
Classic cars of every description will line Park Street in Alameda’s historic downtown district between Encinal Ave and Buena Vista Ave — Roadsters, Coupes, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, and Antique Trucks; Fords, Chevy’s, and Pontiacs; Corvettes, Impalas, Mustangs, and Model T’s. Most of the cars come from those magical decades — the ’50s and the ’60s. But there will also be a number of vintage classics from the ’20s, ’30s, and ’40s, and plenty of muscle cars from the ’70s.
If you are interested in displaying your classic vehicle on Park Street, an application can be downloaded at www.ShopParkStreet.com/carshow. Vehicles must be from 1977 or older.
In addition to the cars, many of the businesses in the Park Street Business District will be open during the show. This is an excellent opportunity to make a day of it — get in some shopping at the many boutiques and antique stores, eat at one of the 50+ restaurants and diners, and catch a movie at the classic art deco style Alameda Theatre & Cineplex while you’re at it.
Free bike valet will be provided at Alameda Bicycle, near the corner of Park Street and Webb Ave. In addition, Alameda Bicycle will host a classic bike show during the day – this is your chance to show off your low rider cruiser, vintage road bike, or any other bike you deem a classic.
Not only is the Classic Car Show a family-friendly event, but it is also a pet-friendly event. You’ll find dog watering stations at Dog Bone Alley (1342 Park Street) and Alameda See Spot Run (2510 Santa Clara Ave).
Please Note: Park Street from Buena Vista Ave to Encinal Ave will be closed to traffic from 4:00am to 7:00pm. Bus detours for Lines 20/21, 851, and “O” will be in effect but Line 51A will operate per usual.
The Park Street Classic Car Show is hosted by the Crankers Car Club and sponsored in part by Lee Auto Supply. We want to thank them for their dedication to the show. Without their help, this annual event would never get off the ground. A national representative of the Mustang Club of America says that the Park Street Classic Car Show is “the best that he has ever seen.”
