Park Street Art & Wine Faire Gets a Little Help from Our Friends

Park Street Art & Wine Faire 2013The 29th Annual Park Street Art & Wine Faire once again proved to be the “Best Annual Event in Alameda.” The weekend event drew over 100,000 friends and families to the Park Street Business District to enjoy the summer afternoon sun along with a fabulous variety of arts & crafts vendors, tasty festival foods, cold beers and lush wines, and a couple of lively children’s areas.

Dancing with The Sun KingsAs part of the weekend festivities, there were also two stages with a number of popular Bay Area bands playing classic rock and R&B favorites. Local bands The Perfect Beast (formerly Bumpy Road) and The Ben Luis Group were featured in the line-up this year while The Sun Kings, one of Alameda’s most endearing bands, packed the street at the end of the show with a performance that got festival-goers of all ages dancing and singing to classic Beatles songs.

Volunteers at the Art & Wine FaireThe Park Street Business Association would like to thank all those who participated in this year’s Park Street Art & Wine Faire – the people who came to enjoy the fair, the merchants who got into the spirit of the event, and all of our terrific volunteers. We would especially like to recognize the organizations that kept the drinks flowing at our beverage booths: Alameda Business Network, Alameda Chamber of Commerce, Alameda Credit Union & Provident CU, Alameda Eagles #1076, Alameda Elks Lodge #1015, Alameda Successful Thinkers, Alameda Sun, Bank of Alameda, Cerda-Zein Real Estate, Gallagher & Lindsey Realtors, Kiwanis Club of Alameda, Navy League – Alameda Council, OMM Inc (aka Mason Management), Pacific Excel Financial & Insurance Services, and Rotary Club of Alameda.

Wine pouring at the Art & Wine FaireIn addition, we hope you got a chance to meet some of our friendly business owners and employees while they were pouring wine this weekend: JaYing (Artistic Home Studio & Boutique), Laurie (Aphrodite’s Closet), Vicki and Ainsley (Bead Inspirations), Nate (Julie’s Coffee & Tea Garden), Cindy (The Child Unique Montessori School), Evelyn and Grace (Progressive Education Center), Steve and Jackie (Park Centre Animal Hospital), Maggie (The Clothes Line), and Jennifer and Desiree (The Sewing Room & Style Lounge).

A big shout out also goes to Joe Dalipe at Island Print Express for designing and printing our banners and postcards, and to Louis Wong at Quick Communications for providing a phone for our event headquarters operation.

We’d also like to thank Rock Wall Wine Company for being our wine vendor again this year. If you didn’t get a chance to taste their wines at this year’s street fair, you can visit their gorgeous tasting room at 2301 Monarch Street, Alameda Point where you will find amazing views of the San Francisco skyline.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event. But don’t wait until then to “Shop Park Street.” There’s always something happening here in our downtown commercial district. For a list of this week’s calendar highlights, visit www.ShopParkStreet.com/news
