Shop Alameda on Small Business SaturdayYou may have already heard of “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday.” Now there’s an even better shopping day: Small Business Saturday® (#SmallBizSat for you Twitter users). Small Business Saturday is a national event created to encourage holiday shoppers to celebrate small businesses and all they do for their communities. Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving – one of the biggest shopping days of the season. This year, Small Business Saturday is on November 30.

Please join the Park Street Business Association in supporting your local merchants during this year’s holiday rush. Instead of driving to the nearest mega-mall or shopping online for the holidays this weekend, please consider visiting independent, local businesses here in Alameda.

Santa will be roving in the Park Street Business District on Saturday, December 7 and Saturday, December 14! Shoppers and diners of all ages can have their photo taken with Santa! Look for him on the sidewalks from Noon to 4:00pm.
