C’Era Una Volta Brings Tuscany to Alameda and the East Bay

Cera Una Volta Alameda cateringIt’s easy to pretend you’re in Tuscany when you step into C’Era Una Volta… located at 1332 Park Street in the quiet tree-lined Redwood Square, a cobblestoned promenade leads you to this hidden gem with a canopy of amber lights laced with trumpet vines. Tucked away off the main street, the ambiance is European and cozy.

C’Era Una Volta is the Italian phrase for “Once Upon a Time.” And just like every good story, the telling paints a picture with its words. From the day they opened their doors in 2004, C’Era Una Volta has received numerous awards for their regional Italian dishes, warm hospitality, romantic ambiance, and extensive wine selection.

Whether it’s dinner, brunch, a special Sunday morning breakfast menu, or a tasty bar menu, Chef Rutilio “Rudy” Fanetti-Duran pours his heart and soul into his Tuscan-influenced food — it’s “slow cooking” with love and respect. Favorites include Antipasto, Gnocchi, Pesto Pasta, Lobster Ravioli, Lamb Loin Chops, and Steak Florentine. All of the delicious dishes are even better when finished with traditional Italian Gelato for dessert.

C’Era Una Volta is also host to cabaret-style dining featuring Virginia Iglesias & Flamenco Dance Company, Island City Opera, and faculty concerts of Alameda String Academy. Saturday night music sets the scene for a great night out with family, friends, or that special date.

Cera Una Volta_Burrata MozzarellaWhen asked why he named his restaurant C’Era Una Volta, Chef Rudy responds: “I want the dining experience to be like a very old, traditional story; where there is the spirit of entering someone’s home, perhaps a good friend or a family member; where someone will take very good care of you. There is no need to rush. Guests can take their time to enjoy the food, the art on the walls, one another’s company, and the music. I always include musical performances because music is an expression of the human spirit. “

A taste of Italy and a relaxing dining experience awaits you just a short walk from the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex!
