Lauren’s Closet Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Congratulations to Lauren’s Closet for celebrating 25 years of doing buisness in Downtown Alameda. The shop first opened its doors in 1991 on Encinal Avenue near Oak Street offering new toys, books, gifts, and children’s shoes, as well as preowned children’s clothing and maternity wear. After two years, Lauren’s Closet moved to its current location at 1420 Park Street. In 2005, the shop expanded with the addition of the juniors and ladies sections. “The store has changed as the customers have changed over time,” said owner Lisa Oyen. “We adapt, and that’s why our business is steady.”
