There’s always something new to discover in Downtown AlamedaIn addition to the terrific shopping choices, you’ll find an ever-increasing variety of food places that cater to different tastes and budgets.

Recently added to the list of convenient take-out spots are a couple of new deli-style eateries, both located in neighborhood markets and offering their own spin on gourmet sandwiches, fresh soups, and prepared meal options. There are also a number of eateries still in the works — look for country barbecue and Hawaiian poke to be available in Downtown Alameda before the end of the year.

    Is Town Tavern really still happening? It’s been “in the works” for years now.

      Sometimes we can’t help but wonder about that too. There has been some activity in the last month although it’s been just to do some clean-up inside. The family owns the building and this is the son’s project. It’s possible he is taking his time to get the design done right, improve the concept, and get the finances lined up.
