Summer Art & Maker Fair
Enjoy the work of 65 Alameda and Bay Area artists at this free outdoor art festival, along with music, live demos, open studios, and other activities. See live painting, sketching, sculpting, and illustration as artists create unique artwork during the fair. From comic book art to clothing and jewelry to metal sculpture, the Summer Art & Maker Fair will have something for everyone.
The outdoor art festival takes place Sunday, June 25 from 1:00pm to 7:00pm just off Park Street in thelot of Studio 23 Gallery at 2309 Encinal Ave. Look for friendly Lord Zondar, the giant metal robot, to be perched on the roof overlooking the festivities. All ages are welcome; there will be a kids creative corner where children can participate in fun art projects.

Rhythmix Open House Anniversary Celebration
2017 marks the 10th anniversary of Rhythmix Cultural Works. To celebrate this milestone, Rhythmix is opening its doors on Sunday, June 11 from Noon to 2:00pm for a free show filled with fun, food, dance, music, and song.
#Rhythmix10 will showcase many of the art venue’s popular activities including Bomba Percussion & Song, Buti Yoga, Capoeira with Professor Sumido, Cuban Salsa, ZUMBA with Lynda, the Beancounters marimba ensemble, and more.

2nd Friday Art Walk
This Friday, June 9, we invite you to come enjoy art, conversation, and meeting new people at the 2nd Friday Art Walk in Downtown Alameda. Look for artist displays and special happenings at participating art venues, coffee houses, and nearby businesses. Whether your interest is in paintings, photographs, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, or just having fun shopping and dining, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Most venues feature changing art exhibits and local artist receptions with wine and light snacks, while others host live musical performances and special entertainment. Nearby businesses also join in the fun by creating special deals and treats for 2nd Friday patrons.
2nd Friday Art Walks are totally free and guests can go from venue to venue at their own pace. Activities are typically scheduled from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, but times may vary slightly at some locations.

Downtown Tip: Bonne Vie will be doing a free tasting of Peanut Butter Milk Stout (yep, peanut butter beer!). They’ll also be featuring artist Natalie Pelosi with her “Under The Sea” painting series that has everyone raving.
