Downtown Alameda’s Friendly Mechanics Take the Pain Out of Auto Repair

This week’s happenings in the Park Street Business District: View Calendar

Car repairs are one of the most expensive services that you can spend money on. So, when spending that kind of money, it helps to have an auto mechanic that you can trust.

What sets trustworthy mechanics apart are the ones that quote you reasonable and fair prices, work on your vehicle in an ethical and fair manner, fix what they say they’re going to fix, and are careful about preventative measures to ensure you don’t run into additional problems down the road.

It might seem difficult to know where to find a friendly and trustworthy mechanic, but we have plenty of them in Downtown Alameda. To help you get to know our downtown mechanics better and the quality of their work, we’ve compiled a summary of recent Yelp reviews:

Alameda Alfa 76

Alameda Alfa 76, 1541 Park Street

Alameda Alfa 76 (1541 Park Street)
Raymond does a great job with his customer’s cars. He explains all that he would do with the repairs in detail; no hidden agenda. He shows all the parts that was changed and replaces original parts which would cost you a lot more at the dealer. He is a honest human being.” — March 15, 2015

Alameda Auto Center – Smog Station (2267 Lincoln Ave)
“Been coming here to Alameda Auto Center for my smog checks. The technicians, Wing and Dave, are prompt and professional in performing the service. It is also great that they alert and advise me of things that they notice with my car during the inspection.” — March 11, 2014

Alameda Collision Repair (1911 Park Street)
“This is a great place! We had a small accident, found Jose Arce at this shop and could not be happier. Kind, professional, competent, went out of his way to offer suggestions, the work was timely – and the list goes on… Everyone we had interaction with was pleasant.” — February 9, 2015

Car Care Services, Alameda

Big O Tires – Alameda (1200 Park Street)
“It’s always a pleasure going to this store! Gary and his crew always take very good care of me, service is quicker than expected, I always feel like I get VIP service and it always seems like I get a very fair price. It all makes doing business locally much nicer.”  — March 4, 2015

Car Care Service (1639 Park Street)
“Highly recommended! Very polite, professional and honest at Car Care Service. The owner Brett is a great guy and easy to talk to about any car problem you may have.” — January 6, 2015

Cliff’s C-5 Automotive Volvo Service (2429 Lincoln Ave)
Cliff is as nice as they come and is extremely knowledgeable about Volvo’s. He took his time reviewing the car and made some additional suggestions that we could try out. This will save us $’s… I will not hesitate to take the car back to Cliff for required maintenance.” — April 18, 2014

German Auto Repair, Alameda

German Auto Repair, 1719 Park Street

Fink’s Automotive (2326 Times Way)
“I went in to get my 100K tune-up and not only did Joe get the job done under the original quoted price, he also brought to my attention how severally damaged my front tires were on the inside. The tire place I eventually went to mentioned that I was lucky that they didn’t blow out on the freeway. Thank you Joe! Your honesty and workmanship has earned you a life long customer.” — December 9, 2014

German Auto Repair (1719 Park Street)
“I am a mechanic myself but didn’t have the tools necessary to do the work myself. Their service was able to receive my vehicle, give me a ride back to work, complete the repair, and charge me a fair price all within six hours… Thanks Chris, Rob and Tyler.” — February 22, 2015

Tony's Moter Service, Alameda

Tony’s Motor Service, 1800 Park Street

Jerry’s Tire & Auto Center (2501 Santa Clara Ave)
Jerry’s is the friendly Mom-and-Pop auto repair shop that you thought was long extinct. They are friendly, fast, and honest. Moreover, they stand behind their work, as I have learned when I had to return and have something re-repaired, not due to any fault of theirs, but because a part was defective. They cheerfully took care of it, without any arguments.” — March 26, 2014

Tony’s Motor Service (1800 Park Street)
“What can you say… there are so many auto mechanics all over the Bay Area but for me this is my go to spot for all my cars. I met Robert through our local community basketball league. Not only does this guy take pride in his game on the court but when it comes to servicing clients, they do good business.” — October 20, 2014
