Classic Car Show 2011 The 18th Annual Park Street Classic Car Show takes place this week on Saturday, October 8, 2011. More than 400 classic vehicles will be on display in Alameda’s historic downtown district — Vintage Show Cars, Roadsters, Coupes, Hot Rods, Antique Muscle Cars, and more. Food and prizes will be available and DJs will be spinning oldies from the ’50s and the ’60s. The free event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Classic cars of every description will line Park Street in Alameda’s historic downtown district between Encinal Ave and Buena Vista Ave. Most of the cars come from those magical decades — the ’50s and the ’60s. But there will also be plenty of classic roadsters and coupes from the ’20s, ’30s, and ’40s along with muscle cars from the ’70s.

In addition to the cars, many of the businesses in the Park Street Business District will be open during the show. Visitors to the show are encouraged to “Shop Park Street” and peruse the unique collections of our fine stores and enjoy the tasty fare of our fabulous restaurants.

New this year, the Alameda Marketplace will be hosting an assortment of food, fun, and entertainment in their nearby parking lot. Coinciding with the Park Street Classic Car Show, Alameda Bicycle is hosting a Classic Bike Show.

Classic Car in front of La Penca AzulLast year, a national representative of the Mustang Club of America declared Park Street’s Classic Car Show to be “the best that he has ever seen.” The Park Street Classic Car Show is hosted by the Crankers Car Club and is sponsored in part by Lee Auto Supply and the Park Street Business Association.Lee Auto Supply

By the way, speaking of Lee Auto Supply, stop by the “World Famous” auto parts store on Saturday to enter for a chance to win an Apple iPad 2 to be given away by NAPA and Lee Auto Supply.

So come on down to Park Street to enjoy the Classic Car Show plus a whole lot more… get in some shopping at stores you won’t find in any mall, eat your way through our 50+ restaurants, check out the display of classic bicycles, and catch a movie while you’re at it. Free secure bike valet will be provided by Bike Alameda.
